Infocom dat files return error message #124

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. dowlnloaded zork from http://www.infocom-if.org/downloads/downloads.html
2.tried opening DAT file, got error message "not an adventure data file'
3. renamed file with ".z5" suffix, it opened fine
4. downloaded winfrotz, tried to open original DAT file, it worked.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected that the gamefile would be able to be used without renaming it.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
gargoyle-2010.1-windows.exe, Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.

Gargoyle uses the (extremely generic) .dat suffix for AdvSys game files. So you
will need to rename the file with an appropriate .z* extension before Frotz
will get a chance to load it.
