知识图谱的构建及其应用一直是大家所关心并希望深入了解的。在这次抛砖引玉，不仅包括本人在CCF通讯上发的《大规模知识图谱技术》，让大家了解知识图谱是什么以及上层的应用；
另外还将分别介绍Google最新的probabilisic KB和knowledge fusion的工作KnowledgeVault和Sonya；WalmartLab（前身是Kosmix）关于知识库构建，维护的工作以及如何基于知识库做实体抽取、实体链接以及社会化tagging等；
和Microsoft图谱Satori的重要组成部分Probase和基于Probase进行query理解和扩展等工作，希望让大家从这些业界发表的工作中得到一些启发和借鉴。
此外，来自MPI实验室的G Weikum所领导的团队基于YAGO构建了包括AIDA（实体链接），SOFIE（信息抽取），RDF-3X（图数据库）和NAGA（语义搜索）等一系列工作，可以说形成了一个生态圈。
另一方面，欧盟的项目LOD2则是从知识库构建、扩充和修正、重用互联和融合，存储与查询，以及可视化、浏览、用户编辑等进行知识图谱（学术界为linked data）做全生命周期管理的研究。
