Brace yourselves for Huerta minimalism.
This would be a good base logo for the overall system. For an app-store icon for the selfie thing it would be best to confirm it to the Apple HIG and add some a hint of a third dimension with the logo raised on a rounded corner background, which could probably be tilted a bit and include a slight drop shadow. That's not something I can do quickly at all, but I might be able to start on it after I get some Art Hack Day stuff ready.
We should steal a little more from google

Whatever image you tried attaching didn't work.
The camera icon in Android doesn't have an "i" but I think the memory io one could use some tweaks to bring out the memory aspect of it; Was originally thinking of making the background a manila folder, but it ended up looking like ass. I have another idea in mind though; Does the app have anything like a grid view of photos? Thinking about using photography as the background and making the camera icon a single color, similar to EyeEm's logo: http://www.eyeem.com/.
Eventually I think it will to decide what to upload

I like the little flash thing on their image. Makes it less bauhaus
Seems to be a slight improvement?
Sure; It still works, maybe makes it a bit SLRy, but it's still camera-like.
Terribly tracked, but a modified version was used for the 1.0.1 release d20294414ddf2b3152147f20965af0516c4879ff
We have a pretty good concept for a new icon. @huertanix is going to try to work it up.
