Update Mench.com positioning for Recruiters #1938

Closed shervine closed 6 years ago

shervine commented 6 years ago

@grumo Based on our talk I will update the home page to target recruitment agencies as our core client with the following value propositions:

How it Works:

  1. Create an account & Customize it (Company name, logo, connect your facebook page)
  2. Get Student Landing Page URL
  3. Share with your candidates to join your chat

@grumo I drafted the first version of our home page copy targetting recruitment agencies and need your feedback to help me iterate this before I implement it live:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gEcJFEaQTvch-kqZdaufTKhIKvkO75o4M7liJVeQ85c/edit

Let me know when you have done your round of iteration on it :)

@shervine looks great Shervin. I'll take a look and iterate. Also I found the sample SAAS website design Dan Martell gave us after the Growth Stacking Summit in Toronto here -> http://site.saasacademy.io/ This could help you with the design of our new SAAS based Mench website too.

@grumo Created a separate issue for update the website's design #1943

For this issue I will bring back the older home page and focus on the copy so I can continue working on the core features and student-side Action Plan which needs a bit more work.

Let me know when you're done with your iteration as I plan to launch this by the weekend 🙌

@shervine I'm done with iterations for now. There are several Hooks and Sub-headings to choose from. For now I highlighted in bold the ones I think would work best. I also used our wordpress installation to test a SAAS template to help me visualize how the copy would look on an actual homepage. See here: https://mench.foundation/

@grumo Nice job with the Wordpress theme. Not sure how many feature it has but one option would be build the front-end website on wordpress on Mench.foundation and use that as our home page that you can control. Do you think this is a good idea? It would help me focus on the back-end and also on the content aggregation part to build the main product while you focus on the front-end and the selling side. This depends on how much Wordpress experience you have and how comfortable you feel about building out this website.

Or I can use the older template that we had and deploy our copy on mench.com. That would also be fast for me.

Either way, I want to continue pushing forward the main product as I also need to introduce #1817 after I wrap up #1963

Let me know your thoughts

grumo commented 6 years ago

@shervine Yes, I can do that. That Wordpress template is super easy to customize. Would you redirect Mench.com to Mench.foundation? it would be weird to have to different webpages. The other option is to have the Wordpress installation under Mench.com and the platform in a subdomain like app.mench.com or dashboard.mench.com like many other products do. Either way I'll keep working on the front facing website using Wordpress for now.

shervine commented 6 years ago

@grumo I get your point but the issue would be in the landing pages, which would become https://app.mench.com/LANDINGPAGE which is not cool, I would rather keep those landing pages on mench.com and perhaps do https://intro.mench.com or https://home.mench.com for the wordpress site that would be our front-end platform to get our supplies to signup. What do you think?

grumo commented 6 years ago

@shervine I agree. So maybe have mench.com redirect to mench.foundation for now.

shervine commented 6 years ago

@grumo Ok will do that as part of the next update

shervine commented 6 years ago

@grumo My plan is to update mench.com by Tuesday 8a with v4.5 which would also include the redirect to mench.foundation for the home page. Do you think the wordpress site would be ready by then? Is there anything I can help with?

grumo commented 6 years ago

@shervine yes. I'll have it done by Tuesday morning.

This is no longer our approach as we decided to Pivot to Seeding Marketplace Strategy
