I wouldn't call nixos 'centered around alternative frontends' and It's certainly got a bit of a learning curve, but setting up several of those services behind appropriate reverse-proxies along with many alternate clients can be done with this gist. https://gist.github.com/eatb33ts/dd5a45854e26a2aa434964decdf698e1

Is there any linux distro centered around alternative front ends? Like, a distro with pre-installed, pre-configured local servers for many of the front ends listed here?
