Mentoring session request #23

I'm requesting a mentoring session as per the recent RMU email to new students. I don't think any Ruby code I've written has ever been read by another programmer, so this would I think be a great chance for a code review of the Puzzlenode solutions that I submitted. I'm available from 17:00 UTC on any evening (UK time) in the next ten days, barring Saturday 30th.

Any time til' midnight UTC would be fine.
