We have recently purchased a google appliance and my boss has given me a
link to this project and asked me how long to implement.

Unfortunately I am extremely new to the google appliance (still waiting
for acess) and python so did you mean I would need my google appliance as
well as a seperate server to run the python and apache or can this code be
placed onto the google appliance.

I may sound like I dont know what I am talking about and you would be
correct but this information will allow.

I appreciate your feedback.

Hi Stephen,

Good questions. I'll try address all of them.

First, this is a great feature and many GSA customers have implemented it
already and
are loving it. I'm sure you (and your boss) will love it as well. :)

So, for a lot of Enterprise Labs experiments, yes, we are releasing these before
productizing them on the box so that you can try them out. The code is entirely
there so it should work just as it would in a production environment. The only
drawback is that you'll need to find a server and put python on it. I can help
you
with the python installation if that's difficult, but it's a free tool so it
shouldn't be too difficult. Any server on your network will do; if you expect
very
high search traffic, then you may want to make sure the machine is strong and
has a
enough free space on the hard drive to do all the logging of the searches and
clicks,
etc.

We are actively looking at productizing this feature and placing it on the
appliance
as well.

Please email us at enterprise-labs@google.com once you get it up and running as
we'd
love to get feedback on how easy it was to set up, how it's working for you,
etc.

Thank you!
