Proposal

Prepare a book proposal for Manning to submit when the May/June 2020 revs to the manuscript are complete.

Background

We need to find a publisher.
@DamienIrving and @gvwilson spoke with Brian Sawyer at Manning on May 11. They're willing to consider a CC-BY-NC license and donating royalties to charity (separate discussion).
manning/manning-proposal-template.md now has a Markdown version of their (MS Word) proposal template.

Pros and Cons

Pro:

We need a publisher.
They will all want more or less the same material in a book proposal, so we might as well start here.
It will get us to finalize royalty arrangements and the author list.

Con:

Might be a distraction from other work (but needs to be done).

Alternatives

Start with another publisher. No particular reason to, though, and we can submit to (for example) Taylor & Francis at the same time as we submit to Manning.
