Collection layers disappears when collapsing multiple bins in the interface.

Detailed description of the issue

It seems the collection layer disappears in the interface after making two or few more collapses (phylogenetic tree).

Hey @tdelmont, I don't think you missed anything. It looks like a bug to me. We don't have anyone working on the interactive interface at the moment, so it will probably take some time :/
