Check new script version before updating #169

this downloads an unreleased version of the script which is not what we want actually.

actually, I don't like calling out to the internet unconditionally and also, updating one script only. Updating the whole package to a tagged release is what we can support. Not every state in git has to be stable enough so that you can replace your current script with it.
