Central Avenue - Return to Original Condition 2-way stops returned to 4-way stops: PARTIALLY COMPLETED

NATHAN SHEETS: Missing stop signs (empty poles) at various stops DPW believes all work has been completed for this task.

Traffic signal reverted to flash red pattern: PARTIALLY COMPLETED When will temporary signals be removed or converted to solely a red-flashing light in the center of the intersection rather than full signals?

NATHAN SHEETS: The overall operation of the intersections remain the same as they did prior to the work along Central. The intersections that were all-way stops with flashers are currently signals that are flashing red in all directions. There are also intersections that did not have overhead flashers that now have traffic signals that are flashing all red in each direction. DPW recommends that we keep as many of these intersections as box spans instead of diagonal spans which can help from a visibility perspective. We will work with DPW Ops on the removal of the pedestrian indications that are no longer needed and the replacement of the 3-section heads with 1-section heads. We can then reinstall the stops signs as well since the MUTCD requires them when intersection control beacons are installed.

Speed tables removed: COMPLETED Have the remaining materials been evaluated for potential installation elsewhere?

NATHAN SHEETS: The speed tables were removed in a manner that could allow their reinstallation elsewhere if deemed appropriate. The number of lag bolts used previously would need to be scaled down. Additional lag bolts, washers, and sleeves may need to be purchased.

I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that the 42nd St intersection was converted back to stop signs and flashing single-red lamps. I am going to assume that all of the Central intersections were converted.
