Sending text with an apostrophe displays as an upside down question mark on the device. It displays fine in the app. Sending from Meshtastic Python works. 1.2.50

I'm guessing you might need to encode to utf8 or something. Maybe?

Can confirm this. Turning off "Smart Punctuation" in iOS settings (General > Keyboards) fixes this issue. I've been unable to determine the equivalent setting in macOS though.

@garthvh This seems to still be an issue with macOS. I don't have an issue with iOS but that's because I still have smart punctuation off, if I turn it back on the issue returns.
