What's the use case for this "simple thing"? All I can think of is confuse people who already know your password. Besides that it only works with -n

If your native language uses latin you just can't understood me, but else every lock you can't understand what is the layout now. It's awful. More complex lockers like kde display current layout, but in this case only auto switch to layout solve this problem.
Still not sure why this needs i3lock-fancy to add two options, when 1. it only applies to a part of the user base 2. you can already do it with a wrapper script and -n
.
