Some issues on first sign up: #315

I thought it was an error because a red thing popped up jt there were no words"

The first sign in being as smooth as possible is ESSENTIAL. You shouldn't have to go back and sign in after signing up.

I'm completely rewriting the sign up page as well as the whole user database jawn now. Sorry for the inconvenience sir! (although it could've been done earlier without a big amount of the "essential" tasks from you 🌚)

Here are the remaining essential tasks. Part of why I want these fixed is so I can do a big push to get people to sign up and show off the new site's features. I'm hoping we'll get around 10 new users from this update. These tasks aren't really something that would take more than a few days to do for the lot of them.

(I'm planning on making a big video that could be on the front page explaining what the site is but I need it to be SPICK AND SPAN before I can show the site off.)

136 - I hear people complain about uploading images not working at least once a month if not once a week. This is because the UI doesn't tell the user what to do when there is an error, or what is happening, is the image uploading? is the image in an error state?

200 - this involves one line of CSS.

203 - this is not too difficult, just move the left and right columns onto one side and make them a bit wider.

162 - This is just a bit of CSS, but all current sites, github, facebook, twitter, etc they all look ok at all resolutions not just full screen. If you switch to the layout in 203 at the right width and then to the mobile layout when super thin this is all set.

224 - I think this one is done already? I haven't checked.

166 - This one is also fixed but it's pretty obviously essential.

224 - I will take care of this one, I'll just get you the images of the badges.
