what are the benefits of using hdfs with mesos? #239

I was trying to setup hdfs-mesos on my test environment today and failed. Hadoop/HDFS installation itself is well described and supported within community. Therefore, a question arises: what are the benefits running hdfs over mesos? Why not yarn (something else)?
