added a LICENSE and fixed some file extensiosn to be more linux compliant and make it possible to prevent linux binary from being pushed to repo

Hi mlechner, thank you for your contribution. Interesting that this little program is still found useful every other year. What is your reason to introduce a .bin file extension for the Linux executable binary? I think this is rather untypical. None of the executables in my various bin folders on any of my Linux installations have such an extension.
