403 Forbidden error at params.json stage in downloading process. #201

Getting 403 Forbidden error at params.json stage in downloading process

Description

I am getting 403 Forbidden error at params.json stage in downloading process. I followed below steps: 1) Filled the form and received email with authentication URL from Meta. 2) Cloned the Git repo https://github.com/meta-llama/llama3.git 3) Executed "download.sh" file with command "bash download.sh" 4) Entered the URL received in email and mentioned the model "Meta-Llama-3-8B"

Received forbidden error at params.json stage in downloading process. Logs mentioned below:

Yes, I did. Still same issue. However I was able to access via HuggingFace, after authenticating hugging face token.

Same issue, I get a couple of 416 followed by a 403 Forbidden.

I encountered a similar problem because my download link was more than 24 hours old. Just regenerate it. https://github.com/meta-llama/llama3/blob/main/README.md Remember that the links expire after 24 hours and a certain amount of downloads. You can always re-request a link if you start seeing errors such as 403: Forbidden.

My link was around 5 minutes to 10 minutes old, and I tried with 3 different links that were freshly generated. All of these fresh links gave me the same errors.

I download success after using proxy, try to set your own proxy address, examples are as bellow. On Mac:

export http_proxy="http://127.0.0.1:7890"
export https_proxy="http://127.0.0.1:7890"

then try wget to download again.

On Windows: write a script by python requests:

proxies = {
    "http": "http://127.0.0.1:7890",
    "https": "http://127.0.0.1:7890"
}
requests.get(url, stream=True, headers=headers, proxies=proxies)

you can find url in ./download.sh, read it and compose your own model url download address or just use echo to check. A python version of download with proxy can be view at https://gist.github.com/YuleZhang/576e6f56ead6578e731343826a5ccc87
