Compatibility of METACLIP with other standards like RO-Crate, FDO, etc... #3

Hello,

I am sorry if this is not the right place to start discussions like this one. I found the link to this repository on the project main page inviting readers to collaborate with METACLIP :slightly_smiling_face:

I work with a workflow manager called Autosubmit, here at the BSC in Barcelona. We adopted RO-Crate, another provenance standard, to track the workflow run provenance.

Given that Autosubmit is used mainly in climate experiments to run workflows for scientific simulations, and that METACLIP is the main provenance in climate, I thought it would be interesting to investigate if/how METACLIP could be integrated with RO-Crate.

In a work-in-progress paper we have a table of comparison RO-Crate <-> PROV-O. So I think it shouldn't be too hard to use RO-Crate with METACLIP. I am curious, for example, if I run a workflow that executes some R code that produces METACLIP if I can package it with RO-Crate and upload it to WorkflowHub.eu, including METACLIP information and how/if this information is displayed at the WorkflowHub.eu.

Let me know if there is some interest in collaborate on this front, please :slightly_smiling_face: and thanks for METACLIP!!

Dear Bruno, Apologies for the delayed response. I appreciate your interest in exploring collaboration for the integration of our respective tools.

It's interesting to consider how we can enhance compatibility and interoperability between our vocabularies, especially given the ongoing significant changes in the METACLIP ontologies. It is certainly an opportune moment for a more comprehensive examination of our tools' synergy.

We are enthusiastic about exchanging information and believe that a face-to-face meeting would be an excellent starting point for our collaboration. Please feel free to reach out to me at bediaj@unican.es to coordinate and discuss further details.

Looking forward to the prospect of fruitful collaboration! Best regards,

Joaquín On behalf of the METACLIP team

That's really great! I checked out the vocabularies repository yesterday and will try to load it into Jena/Protege in the next days/weeks.

Will do! I will CC my manager Miguel Castrillo who is also interested in this meeting.

Looking forward to the prospect of fruitful collaboration!

Likewise! Looking forward to it!
