I followed your simple instructions and got the following:

C:\Projects\esp8266-master\examples\at>c:\Projects\esp8266-master\bin\make c:\Projects\esp8266-master\bin\make: Interrupt/Exception caught (code = 0xc00000 fd, addr = 0x4227d3)
