~~Hold on...there are doubled filter entries if navigating away and returning back to the page. This needs to be tested.~~ This was related to select2.

I have taken some of the javascript changes for #68. The remaining changes for specs, ruby and slim files are in #70.

Maybe this pull request can be closed.
