Monthly factors in rv4.45 #115

Hi, some monthly factors used in the rv4.45 are based on the ECLIPSE monthly emissions.

In the MonthlyFacs readme I can see this:

"Creates MonthlyFac files from ECLIPSE emissions. With keep_old = True the values are only created for countries which are not in the original emep MonthlyFac files (from Jun2012). With keep_old = False all factors are from ECLIPSE (labelled "pure"). Thus, we produce:

Timefactors/MonthlyFacs_eclipse_V6b_snap_xJune2012 (DEPRECATED!! SNAP10 was weird!)

Timefactors/MonthlyFacs_eclipse_V6b_snap_pure Timefactors/MonthlyFacs_eclipse_V6b_snap_may2021 ... " In my downloaded Common_4.45 input dataset I cannot found any other Monthly factors that should be used for any countries and/or sectors not included in the ECLIPSE derived monthly factors.

I suspect that I've done something wrong when I downloaded the latest rv4.45 input data, but just in case.

Hi Massimo, I'll get back to you on this. We (mainly @avaldebe and I) are working to get rv5.0os released, but just need to clear up a bug and make a tidy-up first. I'll think about those monthly factors, and either add the appropriate files to the rv5.0 release, or just make those rv4.45 files available. We actually have new European factors from CAMS-TEMPO, but need to work out what to do for global scale.

Hi Dave, great! thanks. In addition there is also the issue of Dailyfac.XXX and HourlyFacs.INERIS that are in SNAP and not GNFR. Is this ok? As for the monthly I uploaded from the rv4.45 repository, assuming that the input data will be compatible with the rv4.45 EMEP version.

we have now released v5.0, which has new MonthlyFacs etc (and with a new format) for Europe, but I'm afraid that we didn't manage to sort out global equivalents. I'll work on new global gridded MonthlyFacs, and post info here once done.
