point emissions sources and other questions in EMEP #42

Good night, dear colleagues! 1)I have some questions in config_emep.nml. I have understood how to use grid emission file for example gridSOx. I But as know EMEP MSC-W uses also Point Sources FILE. What is the structure of file ? 2)Also tell me please - minimum time resolution is 1 hour in emep model. What should be the ratio between time resolution and grid resolution? Can I run the model in 1km resolution? 3)I can't understand how can EMEP(or maybe CEIP) calculate from summary country emissions into grid . Can you recommend me technical document? Thank you for you help!

Hi, sorry for late response (you can put a @gitpeterwind in your message, so that I get notification when you write something) 1) We do not have explicit point sources treatment in our standard version 2) The time resolution within the model is not the same as time between meteorological records. It is set automatically by the model (it is written in the output and called dt_advec). 1 hour meteorological time resolution for 1km grid resolution is fine. 3 hours would work too. 3) You have to make two runs: one with all emissions, and a second with the country emission reduced. The reduction can be imposed by the settings in femis.dat. The documention is here (https://emep-ctm.readthedocs.io/en/latest/)
