Hi,

I would like to run EMEP with WRF Input of 40 vertical layers. The lowest level is around 40 m above ground. I heard that this is a problem for EMEP. Is this true? If yes - what can I do about it?

The file you can find here:

Kind regards, Heidi

Hi Heidi, It is true that the EMEP model will have problems with lowest layer shallower than about 50 m. However the EMEP model layer do not need to match the WRF layers. That means that if you use for example the file "Vertical_levels20_EC.txt" (default in rv4_33) it will work fine. You can also redefine the levels in that file, so that they match your WRF levels, but remove the lowest level, or redefine it so that it gets thicker. I haven't tried your WRF file, tell us if you have problems.

Best wishes, Peter
