We had issues in spectra API with missing metadata for WWM spectra (variable units for spectral density, frequency and direction). It turns out that the metadata is lost in the WWM reading method. Spectra API implements its own version of the wwm read method which I fixed.
I am just proposing my changes for inclusion in wavespectra.
