slurm / hpc option #303

Hi,

I wanted to see if there is a work around to get bbi / bbr functional using slurm or on hpc?

Thanks!

Hi Logan, thanks for asking! Yes, bbi/bbr already have HPC capabilities via SGE (which is the default value of the .mode argument to bbr::submit_model()).

We also have Slurm integration on our roadmap for this year, actually. We are not actively working on it yet, but we're planning to get to it in the next 6-12 months.

We will be sure to update this issue once we start working on Slurm in earnest. In the mean time, let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks @seth127 ! In the interim are you could point bbi/bbr to a model to a nonmem installation on HPC and just run in interactive mode?

Sure thing.

you could point bbi/bbr to a model to a nonmem installation on HPC and just run in interactive mode?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this. Could you give a little more context on what you're trying to do and where (i.e. what platform or OS) you're trying to actually execute the NONMEM model? Thanks.

Hi there, I am wondering if there are any news regarding the bbi/bbr integration with Slurm? I am currently trying to set up bbi/bbr on our cluster which uses Slurm as a workload manager. Thank you!

Hi @marianklose, unfortunately we haven't started working on Slurm integration yet. Hopefully within the next few months.
