WiFI allways on? Battery drain? Samsung apps? #17

Hi.

first of all, thank you so much! You made my new (used) camera usable again with wifi.

  1. None of the apps work any more (E-mail, SNS, FaceBook, Cloud, YouTube, skydrive etc.) Because samsungimaging.com is abandoned.

Only browser with white background opens. Is there any Way you could redirect those links to functional websites or browser itself with google etc.

  1. I noticed after installing this beautiful hack that my Camera is active on wifi allways (not only after E-mail etc is selected. Can this be changed somehow to stop the battery drain?

I've reverse engineered the email protocol - https://github.com/ge0rg/samsung-nx-hacks/wiki/Email-service-(samsungimaging.com) - and created an alternative implementation at https://github.com/ge0rg/samsung-nx-emailservice

A similar redirect could be integrated for a small static site that would contain a meta redirect to Google to accommodate you, or one could extend the email service to do wherever is interesting, like posting to Mastodon.

I'm also interested in an approach to always on wifi.
