Please provide a description of your proposal
Create a Validator that limits the number of allowed characters. Add clientside 
validation using :
http://itgroup.com.ph/alphanumeric/

What would be the benefit of this feature (ie. better usability,
performance, ...) ?
Advanced validation of text fields for different kinds of values (numeric, 
url's, ...)
