Hey,

I'm new to the field and I'm looking to put ARMBian on my box (I bought it only for that). I thought my box was an h6 in fact no it's an h616 :( I'm trying to figure out how to put Armbian on my tv box and I feel lost.

Can you tell me where I should start?

hey there sorry i was away, that's why replying late. I did research online for a while. But there is no yet support for allwinner sun50i except orange pi 2. I know it is frustrating but at the moment i can ask you to wait. If you find out any relevant material please do share regards

Hey, unfortunate no I am at the moment not pursuing this. But you can start from armbian or search if someone ported linux kernel to h616 other than orange pie 2

Hi, why not. But I have no experience or what so ever in building Linux. I have one board which can be used for testing. How do you want to proceed?

Where i am struggling is the hardware serial probing never done it. I welcome you still got the box can experiment.

I assume GitHub has a better place to talk about how we are going to organise the work and share comments. I read posts about UART port on the board that can be used to retrieve information about the hardware.

ok we can maybe make a discord channel for better communication, I will gather more information about armbian for h616, I have a custom SBC and can experiment with that
