JetBrain Rider support #1

Hi, as announced by Microsoft the Visual Studio Mac support end on 31st of August 2024, so the only IDE competitor il JetBrain Rider. Have you on plan to support this IDE?

Hi @mfranc28! Thanks for reaching out.

At this point in time, I have no plans to support Rider. MFractor is built on top of Visual Studios architecture (Roslyn and MEF) and as Rider has a Resharper foundation it makes it far too different to support.

With VS Mac going out of support, I plan to support MFractor for the IDE until its end of life. After that, I’m looking at the work needed to support VS Windows only.

I have a few competing priorities at the moment (a new startup + Ansight, another product to support) so unfortunately no timeline on when the VS Windows tuneup would take place.
