443.000 Remote base RX PL board fails to signal COS. #11

Twice now the 147.750/147.150 remote base attached to 443.000 has gone "deaf" and no longer receives any signals. DTMF up/down and different modes from remote does not bring the receiver back online. Transmitter still works on output of 147.150, with a good signal.

Sked. site visit for Feb 11, 2022.

mgenelins commented 2 years ago

Visited site and changed remote base radio to Channel #51, User radio for 147.150 backup repeater PL 100.0. Enabled "monitor" mode since PL was not being decoded until a radio reboot was performed.

Within 1 hour, inter-mod was observed on 443.000 via 147.150 RX remote base.

443.000 has been taken off St. Paul campus on April 16, 2022 and is on the workbench at Matt's garage.

443.000 has been parked at the W0YC Hamshack on a low antenna to keep this system functional and on the air. Still needs PL board replacement or Remote Base reprogramming or re-tasking of this system.

443.000 has been moved back to matt's garage for repair.

Cleaned up and remounted radios in 443.000. Hooked to external antenna at Matt's garage. Need a radio with a DTMF pad on it, all those are left at St. Paul campus.

System is operational on ham radio desk. PL board in VHF remote base seems to be functioning fine on local speaker; this is likely a programming issue with the back MOLEX connector that needs to be programmed to send PL DETECT instead of COS to the back connector, thus repeater controller.

This system will need additional time and work.
