Tried to get this working w/ the latest code that'd been checked in elsewhere and ran into some issues w/ failing tests. The current test failures are legitimate, and have to do w/ type mismatch.

You'll need to git pull to keep working on this branch (sorry about that, thought test failures were spurious so made a quick push to fix them).
