Status queries will not let the Sony TV Bravia TV go into deep sleep mode and seems to waste 30W even when TV is off #1

Seems like the new introduced sony bravia status queries will not let the Sony TV Bravia TV go into deep sleep mode and seems to waste 30W even when TV is off.

I guess that this is a bug in Sony Bravia TV that they reset their Sleep-timer even when it is just a powerstatus query.

This seems basically to render the whole method to query the powerstate useless for private home users that look at power drain.

increasing polling interval to for example 600 seconds seems to be fine though.
