Hi, The phenotype retinal gliosis appears in J:46585. I'm hesitant to use the term gliosis since this definition species the brain and spinal cord. So, I would like to add the term retinal gliosis def - increased growth pattern of neuroglia in a damaged area of the retina (is neuroglia correct or are glia cells in the retina called something else, several annotations mention microglia?) child of abnormal retina morphology There are 4 existing annotations for this phenotype under gliosis and 5 existing annotations under abnormal retina morphology that mention accumulation of microglial cells in the retina. Thanks, Sue

Glial cells in the retina include astrocytes, Muller cells and microglia, all or any of which may contribute to gliosis. So grouping these as neuroglia in the definition is appropriate.
