lung terms #312

Closed obophenotype-user closed 9 years ago

We may want to add terms for the morphology of left and right lungs and child terms for the lobes of the right lung.

abnormal left lung morphology def any structural anomaly of the organ of respiration located on the left side of the body

abnormal right lung morphology def any structural anomaly of the organ of respiration located on the right side of the body

abnormal right lung accessory lobe morphology (phenotype seen in J:73074) def any structural anomaly of the (not sure of the definition to distinguish this lobe from the other lobes of the right lung) child of abnormal right lung morphology

abnormal right lung cranial lobe morphology (existing annotations for this phenotype) def any structural anomaly of the upper most section of the right lung child of abnormal right lung morphology

abnormal right lung medial lobe morphology existing annotations for this phenotype) def any structural anomaly of the middle section of the right lung child of abnormal right lung morphology

abnormal right lung caudal lobe morphology (no annotations) def any structural anomaly of the lowest section of the right lung child of abnormal right lung morphology

The existing terms left pulmonary isomerism and right pulmonary isomerism should be made children of abnormal right lung morphology and abnormal left lung morphology, respectively. Thanks, Sue

We may also want to add the synonyms abnormal right lung superior lobe morphology abnormal right lung middle lobe morphology abnormal right lung inferior lobe morphology (all synonyms come from Gray's anatomy)

Synonyms were in the MA. I need to work on the definitions to make them species-independent; the lobular structure of both right and left lung varies in human, mouse and others.
