I would love to see MA updated with this information as well; then we can add some long-needed terms in the GO for development of particular lymph nodes.

For mice only:

Anatomy and nomenclature of murine lymph nodes: Descriptive study and nomenclatory standardization in BALB/cAnNCrl mice.

Van den Broeck W, Derore A, Simoens P.

J Immunol Methods. 2006 May 30;312(1-2):12-9. Epub 2006 Mar 6.PMID: 16624319

This reference describes the existence of 22 distinct lymph nodes in mouse.

Note that the attached file has many human-specific terms. I'll have to determine how/if these should be distinguished.

Mice have 22 identifiable lymph nodes; humans have over 450. FMA has many listed for human. MA has the mouse nodes listed. The MP only has some of the mouse nodes; it looks like the MA is complete.

Wikipedia says (uncited): Humans have approximately 500-600 lymph nodes distributed throughout the body, with clusters found in the underarms, groin, neck, chest, and abdomen.
