Import notes/insert into document does not import any PDF annotations (even though Data Explorer shows them) #240

Import notesand insert notes into current document have no effect with Zotero items, whose PDF has just been annotated within Zotero. However, the Data explorer shows that the plugin finds their formattedAnnotations. This is also not an issue with templating and extracting some specific variables (as in some other issues) since insert notes into current document.

For example, the following item fails to import any of the annotations into Obsidian (while, if I extract them first into a note in Zotero, they do show up):

Am I doing something wrong? BibTeX and the PDF utility are up-to-date

Same here, & Zotero Connector does not open up for file selection.

Notes are not annotations (unless you've extracted the annotations to a note). Notes are the little text files you can associate with Zotero items. The command "Import notes" only brings in notes.

To import annotations and notes, use an import format with both annotations and notes added to the template. See the examples in this thread: https://forum.obsidian.md/t/zotero-integration-import-templates/36310
