I have a custom csl set in Zotero Preferences, Export, Quick Copy. Importing from Zotero with an Obsidian template causes a pop-window to appear showing Zotero - Document Preferences, requiring me to select a citation style. Once I select the citation style, the import into Obsidian works. It doesn't remember the citation style, so if I do another import, the pop-window appears again. Also, after I select the citation style, and the import completes, a Progress bar window remains in the background, unless I close it. (If I leave it open and do another import, 2 Progress bar windows will be open. So, these windows will accumulate if I don't close them.)
If I change the Quick Copy citation style in Zotero to a standard one, like APA, there is no pop-window that requires me to select a citation style, and the import proceeds as expected.
Custom csl has worked in the past. I can set a custom csl in Quick Copy and import into obsidian (without a pop-up window asking for citation style to be selected) if I change the better bibtex version back down to 6.7.147, however, the import won't include highlights made on the pdf in Zotero (but the fields and citation format will be correct). (For comparison to a connection with Libreoffice, I can add custom Zotero citations in Libreoffice 24.2.4.2, by setting Zotero Document Preferences once in the Zotero plugin for Libreoffice.)
