This is a very silly question but driving me crazy #146

I've tried googling my question but it's so simple that I can't find it anywhere and I feel like such a newb having to ask.

At one point when I was working on my site. www.gildedcagecomic.com I was able to add additional widgets to the top, bottom and sides of my comics. Somehow it turned off and I'm pretty sure it was a setting somewhere in Webcomic that allowed me to do this and for the life of me... I cannot find it to turn it back on. Am I going crazy?

What version are you using?

When you say adding widgets "turned off" how do you mean exactly? Can you not add widgets to different widgetized sections on the Appearance > Widgets page, or are Webcomic widgets missing, or something else? When talking about widgets there are actually two things involved: Webcomic provides new widgets (this is automatic and cannot be disabled) and Inkblot has several widgetized areas that you can add widgets to (this is also automatic and should be impossible to turn off, short of editing the theme functions.php file).

Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm using the most up to date version of the Webcomic plugin.

Let me try clarifying. :) When I go to Appearance>Widgets I can add widgets to widgetized sections of my page no problem. However, one of the perks of Webcomic that I really liked was that you had additional widgets to the top, bottom and sides of your comic. So if I wanted to add social sharing icons to the bottom of every comic page then I could. But for some reason I don't see this widgetized areas anymore. They were there and I was using them for about two weeks and when I logged into my WPadmin they just disappeared along with the content I had in them.

I have no touched any of the php files and no one else has access to my wpadmin except for me. So I can't figure out what happened or why they disappeared or how to fix it.

I might see the problem. Are you using the latest version of Inkblot?

Sotalean commented 11 years ago

I'm using the latest version of Inkblot yes.

Sorry for the delay Sotalean. (I had no emails coming from Github.) So, basically, you're not seeing this on the widgets page? screenshot from 2013-08-06 21 36 56
