10 years ago From what I can find: no (with a few of caveats). It looks like WordPress' Network Activate option is an all-or-nothing kind of thing; when a plugin is network-activated, it's on for all sites, always. So you apparently can't have Webcomic (or any other plugin) both network-activated and disabled for one or two sites.
That side, there are apparently a few options:
- The selected answer to this StackExchange question has some code that purports to selectively-disable network-activated plugins. I'm not sure where to put that code, however, and this thread at wpmudev.org claims that it doesn't actually work.
- That same thread suggests this plugin as an alternative. From what I gather, you can use that plugin to perform bulk-activation (or deactivation) of plugins. I'm guessing this is like activating the plugin on each site individually, except you can do it all at once (whereas network-activating a plugin is more like saying "all sites must use this plugin, no exceptions").
The second option is probably the way to go. Let me know how it works if you try it.
Hello. I was wondering if there's a way to disable Webcomic on WPMU accounts that are not webcomic sites. It clutters the UI for the accounts that are purely blogs, and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable it on individual accounts other than just disabling it for all sites ("Network Deactivate")... which is not what I want to do.
