Homebrew #12

Open Abdullah16M opened 6 months ago

Abdullah16M commented 6 months ago

It would make installing and uninstall the program much simpler and more accessible

Abdullah16M commented 6 months ago

Also it will provide a convenient way for updates!

Thanks! Blocked by: https://github.com/orgs/Homebrew/discussions/5357

Thanks for linking the blocking discussion.

The only way seems to be to indeed bundle a script that would only execute this one command, but that would feel a bit awkward

Would you consider doing that for now, until that discussion is resolved?

mhaeuser commented 5 months ago

Honestly, no, I’d like up get things right before making this an official distribution channel. But I might think of whether it’s possible to safely get rid of this custom right entirely, but Apple’s documentation is a bit tough on such subjects.

@mhaeuser Any news on this topic? I'ld like to install Battery-Toolkit via Brew. Thanks 😄

mhaeuser commented 1 month ago

No - nobody responded to the blocker and I haven’t gotten around to see whether there is an alternative way.

Don't have time to try again with homebrew casks repo (sometimes they reject new app)

So I create homebrew taps for myself. Anyone want to install via brew can try: https://github.com/nhymxu/homebrew-tap

Note: manual update when have new version right now (because not have time to write auto-update function) So if @mhaeuser release a new version, feel free to ping me or create PR on my repo.

Or wait @mhaeuser create other tap and handle update when release
