Mentioning NonGNU ELPA #82

Open phikal opened 3 years ago

Hello, this is just to let you know that wgrep has been added to NonGNU ELPA. This is the new package repository added to Emacs 28 for packages without copyright assignments: https://elpa.nongnu.org/nongnu/wgrep.html

In terms of development, this shouldn't change anything. The only two things worth noting are that ELPA distributes stable versions by default, and these aren't identified by tags but by commits that bump the version tag.

In case you are interested, please feel free to mention that wgrep can now be installed this way.

The author has this on his profile:

Recently (2018-03-19), I don't have enough time to maintain the Github repository. Sorry for the no reaction to each issues.

Maybe this package should be maintained in NonGNU Elpa? That would also allow merging some of the pull-requests and creating a new release.

The NonGNU ELPA initiative wanted to avoid this, insofar it is not necessary. Are there any critical bugs that would legitimate forking development?

I see. No, there are no serious issues as far as I know.
