# Error: NameError: file <maya console> line 36: name '__file__' is not defined #6

Hi, I'm facing this problem in Maya 2023 although I have followed the installation instructions.

Error: NameError: file line 36: name 'file' is not defined

Did you drag and drop the "install.py" file onto the Maya viewport? Do not run it from the script editor or source it, just drag and drop the file in the viewport. If you did, delete all files , close Maya, repeat the steps carefully.
