Working on a Wordpress plugin for Pulp #21

Hi Michael, and Happy New Year!

Since several month, I'm rewriting my website with Wordpress because DocPad is no more supported... In this context I started to create a Wordpress plugin for Pulp, simply called Pulp Comic.

It's basically working now for my needs, I integrated Pulp Comic into Wordpress and it works, but it require some FTP file handling, and I'd like to integrate also Pulp Press in this plugin to make it fully easy to use: manage and upload everything from the Wordpress admin, transparently. I just uploaded an initial repo here : https://framagit.org/nylnook/pulp-comic, so everyone can see the code, test it and contribute.

I also added some features I needed, I'll let you discover that ;)

I think I reached the point where my coding skills are overwhelmed : Pulp Press may need a partial rewrite to work inside Wordpress so it's forms doesn't fight with the Wordpress admin and uploads are managed transparently.

Do you know Wordpress and PHP ? Are you interested in collaborating on this ? Do you have time for this ? It will probably be a great way to spread Pulp, as Wordpress is very popular.

I think I will continue to work on my website for now, but I'm curious to read your answer.

PS: @Globulle you may be be interested for pellichi ?

Awsome! That would indeed be very convenient for Pellichi and her manga. Have you a working implementation on a Wordpress site somewhere?

And what you mean by "Add support for series of comics, each comic become an episode."?

Congratulations and thanks for the work!

Hi Globulle ! You're welcome ;)

Here is a working example on my WIP new website : https://nylnook.art/wp/fr/lecteur-bd/mokatori-ep1-business-as-usual/

admin side, here are some screenshots : capture du 2019-01-04 14-51-27 capture du 2019-01-04 14-51-57 capture du 2019-01-04 14-52-17 capture du 2019-01-04 14-53-07

For series, I mean I added support for series of comics (see the books icon next to the date in the linked example ?)... But for pellichi I think you want chapters : a special menu with some links to the pages beginning chapters. It's easy to implement in the viewer (and I already integrated you icon in the font), but admin side I have to find a way to create dynamic forms (so we can have an arbitrary number of chapters). It's on the TODO list.

Cheers !
