Oooh, this is basically a variant of the "subfolder problem"? https://caddy.community/t/the-subfolder-problem-or-why-cant-i-reverse-proxy-my-app-into-a-subfolder/8575?u=matt -- and prefix helps solve that, by telling the web app which subfolder path it is in?

If so, we could include a link to that wiki article in this change.

Yes very similar issue. Good point, i've added a link to it now.
