Do you have two monitors or a similar setup? Can you also try a smaller area size and see if problem still persists?
I'm using a laptop and I'm only using the screen that came with it. I tried a smaller area like you suggested and it said it was recording and I got the following output:
➜ ~/Desktop green-recorder
You are recording on: x11

Thanks for helping with my issue last time. Unfortunately, another issue has presented itself. When selecting the area I want to recorder, it gives the error
Capture area 1151x746 at position 251.3 outside the screen size 1366x768 :0+251,3: Invalid argument
The area which I wanted to recorder was definitely inside the boundaries of my screen resolution.
