https://github.com/mhutchie/vscode-git-graph/issues/715 You can read more about the situation of the project here. Yeah I think this one is already abandoned
my all-time favorite VS Code plugin! πΏπ
@mhutchie thank you for all your amazing work on this plugin! the existence of this plugin is what pushed me to switch from JetBrains. Your work made coding better for millions of users!
honestly, with a flat-out 5 star rating and 5.7 million installs, you could probably make a business out of this project, just by accepting donations.
if you have no intention of continuing this project, perhaps you would consider approaching Microsoft and selling it off to them? having this is a built-in feature would hugely improve the VS Code experience.
since it no longer works with Github, I guess I'll look around for alternatives, but I will be really sad to leave this one behind - I can't imagine there's anything else near this quality.
so thank you again! π
@mindplay-dk what do you mean by "since it no longer works with Github"? I have no problems with github in this extension,,,
some operations don't work anymore, I forget which - but I occasionally get a prompt for an old-fashioned Github username/password, which afaik isn't supported anymore? everything requires a key now, I think.
it's no big deal btw - I just switch to the built-in Github support in VS Code and do whatever I need to do. It's only that certain shortcuts in the GitGraph UI itself seems to access Github in a way that isn't supported anymore.
it just points to this extension being "dead" - only a matter of time before more issues like this start cropping up.
I'd really like to know what happened to mhutchie. I hope he's okay.
The repository is stuck at 5/4/2021. Is this extension dead? I hope not it is really useful, makes VS Code even more "indipendent" and the UX is also damn nice, and i really like it! I hope the project is not abbandoned
