Per discussion:

Intuition and awareness over detail and capability.

Agenda:

mhweber commented 1 year ago

Set up Quarto document outline to use for general concepts and R material and set up GitHub pages

@mikejohnson51 can you throw together a very minimal example for the spatial data resampling use case here? https://github.com/mhweber/ICRW8_Geospatial_Workshop/blob/use-cases/Slides.qmd#L463 (That's just a link to my development branch till @mhweber looks at it and merges in to main.)

dblodgett-usgs commented 1 year ago

I just added a commit to #3 to cover the key concepts.

We still need to assemble some python materials. Hopefully @cheginit can help kickstart that. If nothing else, just pointers to relevant documentation would suffice i think.

@dblodgett-usgs - perfect - I'll take a quick look but planning to spend more time and work on later this evening.

cheginit commented 1 year ago

Sure. I will be available starting next Thursday and would be happy to help out.

mhweber commented 1 year ago

@mikejohnson51 - do you have an example for spatial data aggregation and resampling for use case above? Not quite sure what we were intending there...thanks!

cheginit commented 1 year ago

@dblodgett-usgs For the scalability part, what do you have in mind?

dblodgett-usgs commented 1 year ago

I want to mention the idea that http latency and throughput can be a limiter that requires using local data and help people understand how to make decisions on that front.
