Include pre-variable selection (needed for EXPLORE to run)?

Belongs to preprocessing of data
Code should be easy to run for end-users -> should add the functionality?
Most problematic for PLP data -> add functions variable selection (only) there

Support sparse (PLP format) and dense data (other common datasets)?

Two vignettes: one Eunomia example using PLP package and one open-source dataset
