We need to consider in having a Settings guidance page (I believe under Patterns on the site make most sense), due to the following reasons:
This was a community request which came through internally. The community members mentioned how other apps and products have complexity and will require a 'Settings' page. The ICDS does not have any guidance for this at all and it is something we should have.
Therefore within this settings page users can have the 'Dark Mode Enabler' and other features. As currently our Dark Mode Enabler is located on the Side/Top Nav. This would be too overwhelming for applications that have many features on their Side / Top Nav.
Overall, we should give users the option to have the Dark Mode Enabler on the Settings page and also an option to just have it in the Side/Top Nav. For instance, the ICDS does not have / need a Settings page, therefore makes sense to just have it on the Side/Top Nav. Other applications maybe in similar position, however most products are quite complex and do have a Settings page.
What component is this related to?
This should go under the Patterns sectionin the Site.
Why do we need it?
