Procedure Entry Point...On Cygwin 1.7.7 on Windows Vista #45

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to establish a Puttycyg session to Cygwin.
2.

What is the expected result?  What happens instead? Expect to log into Cygwin 
but get the error "The procedure entry point __assert_func could not be located 
int he dynamic link library cygwin1.dll.

PutTTYcyg version: puttycyg-20091228
Cygwin version: 1.7.7
Windows version: Windows Vista Enterprise SP1

If you are experiencing performance issues, do you have a multi-core system
or multiple CPUs?

Do you have any firewall software installed?

Please attach your PuTTY configuration.  Use this Windows command to create
putty.reg:
REG EXPORT HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY putty.reg

Please provide any additional information below.

Never heard anything about this on this site but this issue resolved itself. My 
guess is some OS patch or .NET upgrade over the last month or so caused this to 
resolve itself.

Multiple copies of cygwin1.dll on your system can cause errors like this.

Presence of another cygwin1.dll included in a module I downloaded caused this 
for me (thanks medgar123)
